GLOOMCHEN IS a long-time member of the Internet Elite whose music expertise is respected everyone in the universe. Okay, obviously, that’s not quite accurate. However, Gloomchen has been writing music-oriented diatribes online for nearly ten years. Whether it’s been on her own via Anada E’Zine or in the great company of White Trash Devil, 411mania, or Inside Pulse, regardless, she’s built enough of a following that one fan sent her eighty mix CDs for no reason other than just because. Originally residing in Dubuque, Iowa and now making her home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gloomchen (Summer, in the real world) keeps up on the local music scenes as well as rock and pop music as a whole. Although she specializes in metal, her knowledge base deeply includes ’80s pop and various other genres. And that’s not including her love of music history books and rabid consumption of such.
Gloomchen is committed to several things: accurately judging works without regard to her personal preferences, fully researching and understanding music history to better follow the course of genres over time, helping unsigned bands by critiquing from an A&R standpoint, and the eradication of stupidity. Needless to say, it’s difficult to accomplish all of the above, but not all goals should be easy to reach, right?

Thanks to all readers past and present for kicking ass and keeping this girl motivated to keep writing for so damned long. Seriously, why else would I willingly listen to a Jessica Simpson album? Okay, maybe I shouldn’t be thanking you after all… eh, I guess you have to know what’s bad before you can know what’s good, right?
